Wow!!!
You are correct. Perfect example was the Nov 7, 2007 election.
The American people will PAY dearly for putting the Democrats in control of Congress.

No, I think it's proof that American idol is not purely a singing contest. It's got a younger audience and it's a combination personality and singing vote. You can be the best singer in the world but you have to have a good or pleasing personality. I noticed on the latest AOL poll Lakeisha was ranked 5th, even though she probably has the 2nd or 3rd best voice, I think because her personality may not be as sweet as Melinda (who was ranked 1st) or some of the others.

Sanjaya not only seems sweet, but I think when the judges really bash you and insult you and you take it so nicely like Sanjaya does, you also get a sympathy vote because of that. I think eventually though people will realize he doesn't deserve to be there, or be in the finals!

Yes. And (not) coincidentally, a great many of Sanjaya's votes that came from Florida are under investigation.

Where there's smoke there's fire. Good point, people who don't know music voting because they 'like him'.
I still like the quote of former Gov. J.Ventura. "What's so great about democracy. It's just one more choice than dictatorship."
So we have uneducated people flipping a coin or voting for the guy they "like".

I don't think so as the voting systems are different....

In Am Idol, you can vote as many times as you want for multiple people. Plus, I'm sure there are plenty of kids voting.

That said, who could possibly be voting for that "guy". He sucks, is way girly and strange. He's got to go.

Good thing the United States doesn't have a democracy. Just a republic with democratic principles.

Sanjaya is actually proof of democracy's greatest STRENGTH:

that fools like YOU who believe they are more enlightened than the masses, don't get to control everything.
