Me and a friend of mine try to check out as many pizza places as we can. We go once a week to different places around CT. A lot of them are in New Haven. Does anyone know of any good places to check out?

Hi there my friend. I have a list here for you that will knock your socks off!! These are all 5 star Pizza Joints. They do not mess around when it comes to Damn Good Pizza!! I Hope you will find this list informative. Some of these you might have been to. Does not matter. These are all Damn good places to go!! My favorite place is Modern. Why? Because they always have fresh ingredients and the staff are always friendly. Why go to a joint that treats you bad? Anyway here is the list.

New Haven area is the place to go. My favorites (in order) are:

Modern Pizza - always great pizza - w/ much better service than Sally's or Pepe's. New Haven style.

Eli's Pizza (Whitey Avenue in Hamden) - New Haven-think crust style pizza - great service/great atmosphere. Bigger menu!

Sergio's (Whitney Avenue in Hamden) - a great tasting pie.

Brazi's - (Long Wharf - in New Haven)

Pepe's - worth the wait - but I'd go to the other places listed above - first

Sally's - same as Pepe's

Try the famous Pepe's Pizza on Wooster St. in New Haven--but get there early, because there's often a long line of people waiting.

Illiano's on South Main in Middletown. There's one on Washington Street too, but the one on South Main is better.
