This vehicle has the chip type key, & you can actually remove the key from the vehicle, & it will still stay running. I have replaced the actual switch under the column, but that didn't change anything.
I've exhausted my resources for knowledge, any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I found a few problems with water leaks around windshield getting into the fuse panel. Might be a good place to look.
Does the problem happen all the time or after rain?

My first thoughts:

1. Bad ignition switch.
2. Bad or shorted wire leading to the switch.

I'd run the wires to look for problems...also check out the ignition module itself.

Hope this helped.
