It allowed Germany to grow stronger! The British didn't rearm, they were armed by the U.S. as was Russia. Yes, they had their own weapons, but could not keep pace with the Germans.

I don't see an upside to the appeasement of Germany, but hindsite is 20/20. All it did was prolong the inevitable Second Great War.

It led to the Hitler Stalin pact, but again, that's not much of a success for Britain.
