I went to the doctor and had a lump in my armpit and the doctor told me it might be because I was shaving. I said doen't everyone do that? She said no. Well she wanted me to stop shaving for a while, but I could not stand it. It is easier to keep from smelling and I feel like an ape if I do not shave.

When I was in ballet class some girls came from france as exchange students. It looked really bad that they did not shave and were wearing sleveless leotards.

Yeah I did not stop shaving and it still got well. It just feels so dirty to have hairy armpits. I cannot stand it.

yea i do!!!mostly all girls shave their pits(and some guys) i dont wanna look like an ape either. I say forget what the doctor says and keep doin it having a bump is completely normal!!!

I don't know any woman that doesn't shave their armpits. I had a bump once too. I figured it was an ingrown hair (ick!) or one of those pimples that hurts really bad but never comes to the surface. If it were a swollen lymph node, I assume she'd (the doctor) have known that and treated it. Anywho, you can wax it if you don't want to shave but I'm like you - I would DIE if I had hairy armpits - especially in the summer. I don't think shaving will hurt anything though. Just be real careful and go slow around the bump. Or else tweeze the hairs near the bump and shave the rest. I know it hurts - been there, done that.
