I'm 37.5wks pregnant and my baby's movements have always been really forceful (especially the last month or so - not just forceful but bl**dy painful). The last two days i've been feeling really good - energetic and happy and, although i still have various aches and pains which come with being in late pregnancy, they've been more bearable than usual.

Yesterday and today i've noticed my baby's movements aren't as forceful as usual. I still feel movements but they don't "pack the same punch" as normal. Whereas i generally see my stomach move non-stop this last day or two i don't really - baby isn't causing too big a ripple across my stomach.

Do i need to worry if the movements aren't as forceful as usual? I know i should go doc if i don't feel movements but do i go if the intensity changes?

My next appointment is Monday.

Thanks!

Well as you get closer to your due date you will notice less and softer hits. The baby is a lot bigger then it was a week ago, its done nothing but gain weight since it hit 35 wks, the lungs are still in the process but there is nothing else left but to gain weight, so due to this there is less room in there for him/her to move around. Therefore causing less movement and when they do its struggled so there is the softer knocks!

Next thing you need to worry about is labor, best of luck at the docs on monday...hoping effacing for you!

I am currently 35 weeks and was told by my doctor that what you are going thru was what I was going to be feeling. The baby doesn't have much room to move in so the movements might be less. No need to worry unless you don't feel any movements at all! Good luck!

The baby has way less room to move around so the movements may not be as strong. I wouldn't worry unless you don't feel any movement at all. Good luck to you and God bless.

My midwife said that toward the end of the pregnancy the baby runs out of room so the movements arent as forceful.
