Formality is dead. Dont wear anything you feel uncomortable in. If you do decide to wear jeans, make sure you team with a nice pair of shoes and wear a pair that don't have rips etc in them, and try to stick to dark denim. However, I like to dress up and personally for this occasion I'd probably nip into town and get myself a nice, but not too over the top dress and a nice pair of heels. I'm not gonna go into style as there are so many different style dresses out there at the mo and I dont know enough about you to advise you on this, although if your into fashion you might want to know that skintight dresses are officially back in. Also shift dresses are always a good choice. Dont be boring in black (unless your PMT-ing and feel bloated) be brave, its spring time. Colour is everywhere.

I've walked into a 5 star hotel with jeans on...they dont expect a formal dress code as you could easily be on business traveling and tired. It's up to you but usually smart casual goes well and a good tip to the valet and bell hop.

When i was at a 5 star hotel recently, i did not know what to expect to wear. On arrival i chose to wear jeans with a smart top leather jacket and matching boots.
At dinner (evening meal) i chose to wear a grecian style dress, long flowing just over the knee with matching sandals. I found some lady guests made no effort at all, after all it was the night of valentines. I was pleased that i did, as some other lady guest also choose to wear dresses, and smart tops with trousers. I was glad i did.
Something as simple as this link, can be a lovely wear.

How about a dressy skirt or slacks and an off the shoulder blouse with a pashmina or scarf or even an attractive evening jacket. Some pretty heels and a small purse.
Just go, look pretty, have a glass of wine (if you are of age)
and enjoy.

My other half works in a 5* hotel and they're really not that strict, obviously within reason. Wear something smart/smart casual. Anything goes really.

id agree with a nice black number like either a sexy dress or a sexy top with black slacks and make sure to wear open toe high pumps with the dress and closed toe high black pumps with the slacks...and some nice jewelery...make sure its sparkly but not colored..something like silver or black. just go all out because noone knows you there and make yourself shine! ;)

a knee length skirt, a nice top, and heels. no flip flops or anything like that, or jeans. or how about a black pencil skirt with a pretty blouse and maybe some peep toe pumps.

Something smart might be a good idea but don't buy a new outfit just something you feel comfortable in would be my advice
