I think yer making too much outta the phrase... Its not original at all to White stripes (yes I have the CD)

The phrase is simply taken from the bible..

Mathew 6:23

in reference to something Jesus said to Peter...

get behind me satan is a scripture from the Bible that speaks of temptation... that when you are tempted, you tell Satan "get thee behind me"
