No, I was a driver for 11 years and I know that a dui on your record will disqualify you. The schools have got to check your mvr in order to hire. There is a federal law, about this, it came in with the commercial drivers license that restricts anyone from receiving a CDL with a dui, in the last 10 years I think.

No, your "friend" should find employment opportunites that don't require operating a motor vehicle. I don't know what the outcome of his case was, but a dui is a felony, and yhe wouldn't pass the background check required for being a bus driver. If that's what he really wants to do then he may want to wait 3 or 4 more years.

No, he won't be allowed to try. The new regulations make states go back seven years for ordinary traffic offenses. Possibly longer for DUIs.

Tell him not to give up on his dream so easy...just look at Otto on the Simpsons - total stoner!
Also, look at the President of the U.S. of A - went AWOL from Texas Air National Guard and has an I.Q. of 70 and that didn't stop him!

Depends on the state. I think that two years is too close though. It can't hurt to try, I'm sure they'll let him know if he's not eligible.
