Have to say I'm ashamed to be English tonight. Not because of the England Soccer teams inept first half performance. (One of the worst that I have seen). But because of some of the England fans. Some of those fans are not fit to wear the shirt either. They couldn't wait more that TWENTY minutes before they started to betray England by abusing OUR team. And even when we scored, some of them just stood there like thugs who had been labotomised. Add these inadequates to some of the racists on here and the pervert traitors of the scum-press. And a minority of you (those with sophisticated mentalities) will understand why I rue being an Englishman.
REGARDLESS of wether the manger is good enough (he's probably not), one thing is for sure, a sizeable chunk of Englishmen in this society certainly are NOT good enough. Reared on a diet of television, tabloids, and testosterone, the lunatics have taken over the asylum. Go on then folks! Give me your sanctimony!

QPR Fan, totally agree. Positive support not lousy detraction.

I totally agree that our 'fans' at the match last night were diabolical. Ok so they paid good money to go out there and see the match and are entitled to their opinion but to begin such awful chants barely 20 minutes into the game is just unnacceptable. For the 90 minutes fans have to get behind the team to become the '12th man' otherwise they might as well not be there. Last night our fans may as well have worn Andorra shirts cos they inspired the opposition far more than England.

Can't find much wrong with what you said in the question, mate. Some people (in fact, most of them) in this country seem to be brain-dead. Not sure if you watched the game in a packed pub (I did), but you seem to get "fans" down the pubs around my way and they were trying to start fight with other people based on their club. I don't want to be associated with some of these morons, and wherever possible avoid them like plague.. There is something seriously wrong with the mentality in this country.

Saying that though, the players fully deserved to be booed off at half-time. That first half performance was pathetic.

Are you all upset because you put bets on England winning, say, 10-0. You will have to accept England are not that kind of team any more - in fact they never were. Even in 1966.
Being reared on soap operas, lottery and fish and chips are no excuse for fan's behaviour - but why not point the finger to the press for their surreal yellings of 'superiority' when they play teams not unlike Andorra?
Conceit? You bet!

I love people like you, patriotic and stands by his team through thick and thin. I agree with you but at the same time I agree with them. Thay've got the right to express their feelings. They know England can do better than this as the oldest footballing nation in the world and are meant to be 1 of the best.

the first half was appalling, perhaps they didn't expect Andorra to defend, defend, defend quite as well as they did....! either way you are right, i am quite astounded by the english fans at the game booing them off even after a 3-0 win i'm baffled?! chanting ' you're not fit to wear the shirt!' could they themselves actually have done better?? i would like to have thrown some of those so-called "supporters" on the pitch and see how well they do!!

So i wasn't far off calling a 4-0 victory. Yeah, I'm gloating.
Swen's ok, people ride him a bit much. The problem is with the overpayed players who are more focused on themselves and their external lives rather than the sport. Teamwork is a thing of the past in most sports, football included. (and teamwork necessarily includes caring about every member on the team)...they aren't capable of that because they're too focused on things outside of thier jobs.....and come to think of it, they think of it as a job rather than a life, and that's what you've got to do in professional sport...recognize you're different because you are always living your career....on and off the field. Unfortunately not all of them do that and until and unless they do, they won't be the best they can be.
same goes for the fans who clearly need to get a life outside of football on occasion....can we erect a fence and put them all inside to rape and pillage one another after the matches?

It's very English of you to recoil from any sense of pride in being English. This middle class version of Englishness is a conceit which the rest of the world are fed up with. This all embracing "Englishness is for everyone" attitude is tiresome because the rest of the world are quite happy not being English thank you all the same.

Look on the bright side, you didn't have to deal with Juventus 2-0 Scotland despite an excellent Scottish performance.

That's not the England I met... I guess it's not just their poor performance that makes them look bad but also the fans. I just hope things work out for them...
