hey there Ryan, how are you? all right i want to encourage you on your great decision. i remember 4 years back when i got my lisence and im at a bank now as a residential loan officer. yes this liscense opens up many doors for you. i highly recommend you DO NOT QUIT your day job in the begining as it is very competetive. i had made that mistake and i regretted not having income for a long while. (please feel free to email me as my knowledge is open to you at anytime and every step of the way for you) remember in this business no one will teach you anything and all will want something from you. i got in this industry and had that experience and dont want to wish that on anyone so thats why im giving you what i would want aswell. remember if you choose Realtor pay attention to the TRAINING for new realtors at the company. dont worry about the commission or you will regret it without any knowledge, once you start closing deals demand more. next do you like sitting on your desk and just doing paperwork. if so then you should concentrate on mortgage. (its what i do) but you mentioned homedepot and lumber perhaps you should get into contracting and building which to me is the probably the better of the choices however its up to you. if your a hands on guy then thats it, plus you have architectural technology degree. *and just a hint* home depot is a great place to pick up leads. best of wishes my friend. good luck. feel free if you ever have any questions to email me.

Apply at a brokerage firm....check your area. Or since you a degree in architecture apply to a Developement firm in your area. You may only get an asst position b/c you only have a 2 yr degree but if you show you're serious about the job you can move up and maybe they will send you back to college for 4 yr.

Consider home inspection. With your background, you already have some of the knowledge you'll need (you should also be prepared to take courses and training). It's a good job because unlike many real estate jobs, inspections are needed even as the market fluctuates. Another good job is appraiser for the same reasons.

In a Real Estate Sales office, there salespersons and secretaries. In an apartment complex rental office, there are salespersons and secretaries. The choices are somewhat limited.
