My youngest had two hemangiomas, one on the cheek just below the eye and another on top of the head. Hemangiomas do grow for up to 12-18 months of age, then they involute (shrink). If it is growing very rapidly/large, has ulcerated, or is otherwise problematic, you may need to seek treatment. The Vascular Birthmark Foundation, www.birthmark.org, can help you find a doctor experienced with hemangiomas. The website also has a lot of good information on vascular birthmarks.
My youngest was on oral steroids, had a steroid injection, and has had two plastic surgeries, but her case is an extreme (one on the cheek was two inches in diameter, protruded one inch by age of two months). Many hemangiomas remain fairly small and involute with good cosmetic outcome.

My youngest son has a stork bite on the back/base of his skull, and another on his forehead. My brother have a birthmark over his eye. There is no treatment for these because they are not diseases or anything like that.
If people want something like that removed or so, there's always plastic surgery. For some, it does grow with age since the skin grows.. For other's it stays the same size. :(

my son was born with a strawberry birthmark on his forehead, which has faded to about 25% of what it was when he was born 7 mo ago. My wife and her twin had strawberry birthmarks as children and they were both cleared by 1 yr old. My doc says if its not totally gone by 1 yr they will do laser to get rid of whats left. If it doesn't go away ,talk to your doc about laser.

My baby (4 months) has a splotchy red birthmark on the back of his neck. I didn't ask about it, because I have one too. I didn't even Know I had it until I shaved my head though. At least this kind, it's harmless and splotchy. If you are concerned that it is growing, definitely have your baby's doc check it out. No harm in that! I'm sure it will be fine, though.

My son has two. He has a stork bite on his forehead right above his nose. This on has faded since birth and is usually only really prominent when he's crying. He also had a red patch right above his butt. That one still looks the same. My husbands cousin also has a birthmark on their face. Personally I would wait until she gets older and see if it really bugs her, unless you feel something is seriously wrong then get a second opinion.

My son has an "angel's kiss" on his eyelid. The doctor said it would fade away by the time he hits 2 years old. He's almost 17 months, and it has only faded a little bit. It does get darker when he cries.
If you want a second opinion, go to a dermatologist.

It might grow slightly as she grows, but as she gets out of baby-hood it will probably start to fade. My daughters both have them on their necks and now at 3 and 5 they are hardly noticeable. But always ask your doc whenever you're concerned. That's what they are paid to do, is answer your questions.

When I was born I had three that later grew together and formed a heart, which I still have.
If you feel that its growing, you can have it looked at.
