What is the meaning of Today's society in this country?

I need to include 10 talking points which will then turn into at 10 minute speech!! HELP

Here is the actual assignment: You have been asked to give a 10minute talk on diversity in today's society in this country. Prepare a list of ten talking points for this talk. (A talking point is a short, detailed bullet point that you would use to organize your talk.) (Cite were you located faccts used in your talking points.) Also, provide a brief description of the talk as a whole. Your talking points should be consistent with this brief description.

Vastly different than the original concept - diversity in today's society...

To take a shot: (fresh ideas with this new information)

The country is becoming more diverse. Direct examples:

Cities and counties now provide language support for voters in several languages. Depending on your part of the country this could include Vietnamese, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, German, Tagalog, Korean, Arabic, etc.

Stores now are marketing to their own culture when there are enough 'transplants' from that group. Driving down the street near my home (look around your town), I see signs in Spanish, Thai, and Korean in additon to English.

Television stations - in most cities, there is at least one Spanish station.

Radio stations - there are now radio stations catering to these immigrant populations in their native language.

Look at the diversity of ethnic foods you enjoy. I am certain it has increased/changed over the years. (Italian, Japanese, Thai, Mexican, French, Chinese, etc)

In larger cities, there are portions of town where the street signs are in both English and a secondary language based upon the immigrant population settled in an area.

While this is not 10 issues, it may get your thought processes flowing...
