so can some1 plz balance: __H2 + ___CO2 ---> ___CH3OH

This can't balance with just these 3 parts. On the left there is 1 C and 2 O. On the right there is 1 C and 1 O. Unless there is O2 on the right side or H2O on the left side it can't be done.

it cant be balanced because you need the same amount of Carbon and Oxygen and CO2 cant be broken down so either you have the question wrong or you are missing something

well i would go with physandchemteach but they added O2 at the end and that is not on the equation

4 H2 + 2 CO2 --> 2 CH3OH + O2
