Some of you give Bush so much credit, like he should be some genious with all the right answers all the time. Since when has a Pres. been that intuitive in the history of this country? He is human. Had he overreacted, he would be criticized, under reacting the same. This country had never been attacked on our soil such as 9/11 ever before. There was no script written for the handling of that in any way. YOur question is ignorant! What did you do?!?!

W most certainly is afflicted with ADD(attention deficit disorder). It's also possible that he's dyslectic. W's mother was teaching W with flash cards at 11 years of age.
ADD types are usually not dumb. John Lennon and Einstein had ADD. They can't assimilate a large amount of information at one time. They tend to lock up as Bush did while reading "My Pet Goat" to those children in Sarasota, Florida. You don't want ADD types leading a nation.

He had to wait for confirmation that it was real. And he didn't want to scare the children he was reading to by jumping up and running out. False rumors come all the time and have to be confirmed as fact or rejected as bull crap. When it was confirmed, he moved into action. Simple as that. Incompetent buffoon he is not.

Waiting for his secret service agents to clear the unscheduled departure. But since you don't want a reasonable answer how about ......That's how long he was supposed to sit there according to the script that Mr Rove gave him that morning.

In my opinion, Bush is more of a figure head for others who are more involved with the intricacies of the president's daily jobs. I think in most situations, Bush is basically told what to do and what to say. When he was told this, no one said "you should excuse yourself calmly and come with us", so he sat there. Eventually he kind of thought maybe he should get up without being told and do something.

From what I've seen the secret service probably ran some sort of protective scenario, which would have prevented him from doing much of anything except use the phone.

I dunno...might take a minute to sink in. Should he have got up yellign and running out of that class of kids? Scared the crap out of them. What could have been done in those 7 minutes? Does it really matter? Did you just pull your head out and see that news clip after 6 years?
