by my understanding if you make them into the same fraction i.e.

2/3 therefore becomes 4 /6

so 5/6 + 4/6 = 1 3/6

and if you simplify it equals 1 1/2 or 1.5

but i haven't been in a class in forever. so if that's wrong then its possible and only possible that alcohol actually does burn braincells.
