I have an 8 week old bunny that I got about 5 weeks ago. When I very first brought her home and she was getting used to her cage I heard a faint squeak/squeal noise. I haven't heard anything else but grinding and chewing.... until today. I heard this squeaking sound and looked over - she was laying down in her cage on her side with her eyes closed and i freaked out....however, it appears she was just sleeping, as she is hopping around like a happy, healthy bunny. Should I be worried?

Bunnies and other animals like Chinchillas squeak as a way of exploring. If she was sleeping and squeaking, she was probably dreaming. Another way you know it isn't anything bad is the tone, you said it was faint and that again is usually them exploring their environment. It is the reason they do it more when they are babies because they are unfamiliar with their surroundings.

No it's abolutely fine - don't worry...they often squeak if you squeeze them too hard by the way so if that happens just relax your grip a bit! But apart from that it's just something they do..

Sounds like your bunny was in dreamland chasing around something...

Please, do not squeeze the bunny...it can cause internal injuries and death.

dont worry!!! squeaking is normal, it is also really cute when they do that. Bunnies squeak more when you squeeze then, its adorable.
