I am planning on buying a Scion tC. Should I wait for the 2008 or buy the 2007? Anyone know of any differences as of now? If I wait, when can and should I buy it? Scion does have that pure price promise, so that the price is the price.
and how does it work if dealers in your area don't have the color and transmission that you want?

It looks the same to me. A lot of the extra items you can get this year are standard on the '08. The engine is the same and the basic body style is the same. I personally don't like the new tail lights, so I would stick with my '07. The source below has pictures and info for you.

As far as finding that specific model you want, you may have to wait awhile. I went through a service called autoland. They work as the middle man to find the exact car you want. The tC I wanted they found for me 70 miles away. They drove it to their local office and I signed all the papers there.

as far as i am aware, they have reworked the body style. quiet changes, sorta suddel. no major reworking like the xb, which i am going to see and test drive next month. (hooray!!!!) already own an 06. 2008 tc will also boast two new colors for 2008: Sizzling Crimson Mica and Wave Line Pearl. you have a total choice of seven colors: Flint Mica, Super White, Black Sand Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Sizzling Crimson Mica, Wave Line Pearl and Nautical Blue Metallic. this link is very informative about the new model and this site also has excellent info on the current model too. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/09/scion-quietly-reveals-2008-tc/

it really wouldnt make a difference. there isn't really any changes from the 07 to the 08. If you dont mind waiting, i would wait til 08 just so you can say your car is a year newer. but if you really want it now, then get an 07. if they do not have the color or tranny that you want the dealers can do a "dealer trade" and trade a tc they have to a different dealership to get the one for you...they will be happy to do that for you.

as for which year to buy, you will be able to pick the exact car that you want if you with a 2008. dealers allow you to order your car through them, or online if possible.
on the other side, a 2007 TC will have more performance parts available. this is one of the main advantages of buying a Scion.
good luck on your purchase, great cars.

They will be the same. They might add another option or paint color for 2008.
