I just had a baby 4 weeks ago and I dont have any stretchmarks so I am thinking about a bikini, I have always worn bikinis but my hips are a little wider now, and my new one doesnt quite fit from last year :( I also have really really fair skin so I need a color that will compliment my skin.
Any suggestions on color and type of bathing suit?

a bikini would be great if you are excited to get one. if you have really fair skin (like me) you would want to stay away from neutral colors, browns, and light shades of green. it can make your skin appear to be translucent and "icky" since it brings out tones underneath the intial layers of skin (dermis). So go for a pink, blue/ aqua, purple, or even black. Pink or blue would be your best color. Especially blue if you have blue eyes. You could maybe go for a really dark green if you have green eyes, but be careful.

so like you might want to go with some what of tanish colors..nothing too bright but nothing too dark.
If your hips are large compared to your shoulders, you need more emphasis on the top part of your body. Wear solid colors on the bottom. You can wear one or two- piece suits. Halter tops are good choices, as are high- necked suits and bar shoulders. Avoid high-cut legs as they will emphasize the hips.
If you have a typically English pear-shape - heavier on the bottom - then try sporting a costume which has very wide straps as this can draw some attention away from your lower half.
Before buying swimwear, make sure to try it on first. Although changing rooms aren't always the greatest place to take a gander at yourself, it's worth checking how garments fit. Have a good wiggle around, bend over, squat and stretch to make sure that it fits you properly rather than finding out that it doesn't when you dive into a pool.

I think you should still stick with a bikini if you're comfortable with your stomach. If you're uncomfortable about your hips, try boy shorts or something with more material on the bottom. You can also find a bikini that brings the attention to your bust to distract from your hips.
I'm very pale too. I tend to think that shades like coral pink, kelly green, and colors that match your eyes end up looking really good on pale skin. My eyes are a teal-ish color, so those are the colors I end up sticking with.

Darker colors reflect less light. Avoid wide striped designs or big bright patterns. Darker colors make things appear smaller. Try something with more than one color as well. Nothing flashy or bright because that will just draw attention to everything. Simple and darker tones.

This is just my personal prefrence. My sister is has fair skin and she always looks good with a green or a purple bikini. For fair skin I like cooler colors...like blue and purple.

A blue one piece with a skirt would look nice until you can get into your bikini again.

fair skin means no pink. sorry. blue, purple, red, black, anything that looks like the opposite of your skin color. then not only will it make your skin look great but it will take away any sort of attention from your wider hips. good luck!
