They don't seem to even want their clients to look at a FSBO even when the seller has told them they would give them 3% commission! That's 3% for doing absolutely no work for the seller--no advertising, no open houses, no signs, no brochures, no legal documents etc. . (This is after the seller presents all the legal info and a lawyer to work with them. Along with that he also can move out at any time!)
Could the reason be that they haven't figured out that even if they got the listing they may only get 2 to 2.5%? Could they feel so threatened by a FSBO? I wish I could make $15,000.00 or more for just driving around a buyer!
Specific answers appreciated.

We aren't in want of realtors---they are circling us literally like vultures! All they want to do is list. The house is priced below market value according to all of them and an appraiser. We have had two offers in two weeks but they have homes to sell and our lawyer advised against the contingency. We are holding on to them.. We have had others who wanted to make an offer but also had homes to sell.

FSBO is cutting in to there pie.
Relay FSBO is there own fault since they have inflated the housing market so much and there commission are so highh that people are now selling there homes with out them.
Any time the price point to to hig that some one els can do it for less they will.
For the longest time Realtors had exclusive hold on most of the market and then they be came the high priest of real estate, And the first rule of being a high priest is to confuse the public so you have all the answers and can practices your voodoo with out question.

Agents will not show your home because it goes against the whole principle of our job. There also is a lot more than just driving around to make 15k. I am sorry to see you think so little of Realtors, but we do serve a purpose, and its to help a transaction go smoothly. Yeah maybe you got offers, but how many were legit? none! Also you say others want to put in offers. I love when fsbos say "we don't want to list we have 4 people interested", and then 4 months later its still for sale. You know how many times buyers are going to tell you they are going to put an offer in? probably 20 before you sell it.
Notice you want an agent to bring their buyers, why, because you know that we only work with qualified buyers, not the tire kickers you have coming through.
If your willing to pay 3% why not just pay 4% and list the property?
Makes no sense

did you ever think that people just aren't interested in your house? you have no idea what realtors go through...we don't just drive people around and make 15,000...did you know that most commissions are split 4 ways, and that we have spent countless hours on continuing eduacation. that is our job. being a buyers agent can actually be more work than a sellers. 80% of what we do is behind the scenes, the legal, the paperwork, making the appointments, keeping the appointments, appraisals, lending, financing, negotiating....get off your high horse and take a look around, THAT IS OUR JOB! do you go to work and not get paid...no!
i didn't spend thousands and go months without a single paycheck to have some FSBO think we do nothing, we have families to support too. and i love my job! do you know the feeling of finding someone that perfect home and working your tail off to make sure they get it and for the right price and the least amount of worry, its fantastic!!!

Houses are over priced in some cases. Sometimes the sellers are unwilling to be flexible. Seller disclosures of the home's condition is omitted in some cases.

I for one do not trust a FSBO that isn't using approved froms and processes. I have to do the research of both listing and buying agent to protect my client and I have had FSBOs lie and mislead me to the point I wouldn't trust any of them. Especially when they get advise from relatives and friends who haven't got a clue.

Hey Captain Obvious, nothing more than getting an Agent who works for the money. If you think you can do it yourself, then do it. Remember regardless of who does it, its how much time was put in to get it done. In a perfect world, you could slap a for sale sign and 5minutes later you get an offer 5 time what you expected....Could that happen?
or Could it sit there waiting and hundreds of offers came in way lower for months to years. One good thing an Agent does is convince a Buyer to buy your home for your price. If you think that's an easy thing, then best of luck. Roll your own dice. Point blank, nothing is easy and worst nothing is free.

Why are YOU so against real estate agents? You seem to have a pretty low opinion of them and yet you wonder why they aren't flocking to you. You shouldn't have to wonder too hard to figure this one out.

Most show properties that are in the MLS. To answer you question. Most see, it as an insult to their profession.
