It's been my observation that men who are insecure about their manhood feel threatened by strong, smart and powerful women. It makes them feel SMALL.
And the other reality is that many of these guys think we should go back to the days (they would call them the "good old days") when white men ran everything, women and minorities knew their place, and you kept your wife barefoot, pregnant and ignorant. They thought that was a good time in our history and they still long for it. Progress scares them and takes some of their power away.

Nice job of generalization there, Travolta. Being religious and conservative is NOT the same as being conservative. Anymore than being a NAMBLA Liberal is the same as being a Liberal. Try looking at what today's mainstream conservatives (not the Susan B Anthony era, for crying out loud) have done to promote the cause of women and you get a totally different picture.
BTW, NOW are a bunch of hypocrites. Did anyone in their group stand up for the rights of the women who had been molested by Clinton? How about the horribly sexist attacks on strong conservative women...Condi Rice, Libby Doyle, Laura and Barbara Bush, Ann Coulter, etc., etc.? No! They are more concerned with their power base than really standing up for women's rights.
BTW again...My husband and I are both staunch conservatives. He willingly followed me for many years during my military career. No threat to him about being married to a strong woman...and he's no wimp either...he can whip the a$$es of men half his age.

I'm libertarian not conservative but I believe that a woman who sits around and asks the government to give them equal pay is weak. A woman who doesn't need governement creates her own business and pays women more then men is strong. I like individual feminists. Not so much into the liberal/socialist types.

Well, NOW betrayed every woman in America when they took Clinton's side over Monica's. When that happened, I started to question the feminist movement.
Feminists are NOT an example of everyday women. I know - I work with a Women's Studies Program and I do *not* like to be associated with a bunch of hateful, mean, angry people, which, in my experience, most feminists are. I mean, come on...spelling women with a y? Doubt very seriously when the word was coined that a bunch of men intentionally set about to keep women down.
And, frankly, kiss my red state butt. I don't know *any* conservative men who don't like strong women....and every conservative woman I know is *very* strong.
Generalize on something you actually have a clue about.
Hey, Danny - how about Gerry Studds? YOU guys reelect pedophiles. People in glass houses and all that.....

Conservatives believe a REAL strong woman is one that can take care of an entire estate, bear a half dozen children, raise them to be good productive, God fearing citizens, and have a hot meal ready when they come home. That may sound like a joke to you liberals, but not only is it just as dificult if not more than what you "career women" do, but it is better for the future of civilization. Without women doing what they have done for the past million years, society will fall apart.

That is a ridiculous sexist assumption in the form of a question. Is the reciprocal Liberals hate weak women?

I don't think conservatives hate strong women. I believe everyone should have one or two of them around the house.

Men like you mention are inferior, cowardly people who want to keep control through oppressing women and people other than Whites. Their marketing of religion to support their cause is unconscionable.

I don't hate strong women. I don't hate weak men.
Though of the two, it is the weak men that are particularly comical. They amuse me.
