More of a chance to dream than a waste of money, and even if you play regularly and don't actually win - the UK national lottery has put millions of pounds into charity based projects all over the country. They've helped refurbish schools, and tons of other stuff so even if you don't end up gaining when playing the lottery, you know that part of your ticket money is going to good causes.

As long as you do not spend more money than you can spare on the lottery, that is okay. I treat this as my "drinking money". I don't go regularly to the pub and spend money, so I put a small amount of money on the lottery. It is lovely when there are wins, mostly small, but some bigger. Carry on dreaming - you never know what will happen.

Someone calculated that, at 14million to 1, you would get better odds on a 30-year-old man buying a lottery ticket at 3pm on a Saturday being dead by the time the lottery was drawn.
But as long as it's your dream and your money, it ain't nobody else's business.
Remember to give me a small percentage of your winnings :o)

I've toyed with at least trying a couple of the Instant games, like the new DEAL OR NO DEAL game that just came out.... but I wouldn't spend money every week on the lotto...I don't have it....and you really have to buy like a million tickets on to even stand a chance....

It is a chance to dream. I do not do it very often. My team at work purchases lottery tickets when powerball goes really high.
