Go to your nearest health food store and find a box of Herbatint. I believe that the ingredients are extremely benign (as well as effective in coloring your hair!!) I used this product 2 weeks ago and although I'm not pregnant, I am pleased with the results. Plus the smell wasn't toxic like with other hair color products available on the shelf and in the salon. Here's the URL for Herbatint FAQ's and below is a response relevant to your situation: http://www.herbatint.co.uk/herbatint/using/herbatint-faq.php#herbatint8
8. I am pregnant and I have been told that permanent hair colours can be potentially dangerous for my unborn child.
Again, as with cancer sufferers HERBATINT⢠would not recommend the use of permanent hair colours while pregnant. However, many of our customer do use the colours in these instances; Jane Leeves the actress from the T.V. programme 'Frazier' has openly claimed that her hairdresser used HERBATINT⢠on her hair while she was pregnant. NO AMMONIA means far less of the product finds its way into they blood system.
Hope this helps. And if your health store doesn't have Herbatint ask for an alternative (or buy Herbatint online). Whatever you do, don't use the mainstream commercial stuff. The ammonia and peroxide is NO good, regardless of whether or not you are pregnant.

I say wait til you start your second trimester just to be on the safe side. All the most important stuff grows in the first trimester. Home hair colors are more dangerous than the kind they use in the salon because the home kind is stronger.
I say wait til your 1st trimester is over and then go to the salon to get it done, just don't go too crazy with your hair so you aren't huffing a bunch of dye fumes for long. Depending on how dark/light your hair is you can try semi permanent colorful dyes instead too. They aren't nearly as harsh on your hair as regular hair colors and they shampoo out after a little while.
N' Rage makes one called N' Red and it looks and smells like raspberries.

And i am 7 weeks pregnant right now and i just colored my hair like about a couple of days ago. some doctors will tell you to wait after you first trimester but it's really up to you!

I would wait. These months are vital to your baby's health and if you are not sure than the answer is wait. Permanent get into your pores and your blood stream and it could harm your little cherub. Just wait a while; you may be able to in a few months but ask your doctor to be sure. Be blessed

I honestly don't think it's that big of a deal, especially if you're just doing touch up on your roots, BUT to be super safe, I would contact your doctor and just ask them. I'm sure it's not recommended to do while you're pregnant, but there might not be too much of a harmful issue involved. Just ask to make sure.

My Dr says thats an urban myth. As long as you are in a well ventilated area, you'll be fine....especially foil highlights because they dont even touch the scalp! Im 4 months pregnant and I know how good it feels to give yourself that little "pretty boost"! Congrats to you!

you should wait till your first trimesster is over and even after that you should use organic dies like herbal essence but if u do choose to die your hair don't die the root of your hair because thats where all the chemicals get transfored into your body. Hope this helps you. LATER

it isn't proven that dying your hair can harm your baby..i dyed mine the same day i took my HPT and then i dyed it again at about 5 or 6 months and my baby(isn't born yet) is perfectly healthy according to my doctor and ultrasound technician....oh and also a reason it's not recomended is because your hormones can react with the hair dye making it a funny color
but here's soem websites with articles that i found

When pregnant or breastfeeding, everything that you do to your body potentially is experienced by the infant - smoking, drinking alcohol, etc. Once the kid is not dependent on your body for food or life, then would be the time. If the child has a tough time, you won't know whether they are reacting to something you have done. It could be easier for you.
