Why is Meg Ryan so bashed?

a few years ago she was americans sweetheart and loved by seemingly everyone, now she is ripped apart and seems to be hated. I know she's 45 and all. but with every move she is attacked, be it a movie or botox. why all the hate? is america so shallow that she was "it" only because she was younger? I like Meg. just wondering what you all think.

I am indifferent to her and always have been but I think she is getting the short end of the stick. So what if she cheated on her significant other a little ways back ( I think it was with Russell Crowe on a movie set but I am not sure) It seems like ever since then everyone hates her (and that is no reason to hate her bimbos like Jessica Simpson and hollywood men do it all the time) I also think she is being treated unfairly

Publicly cheated on Dennis Quaid, who has the reputation of a good guy, after stating him as the love of her life multiple times. Went with Russel Crowe, who is a wanker, publicly stated she hates her mother then goes out and tries to alter herself to be younger.

She was typecast as the girl next door and she played the role well to become America's sweetheart. She can do everything she did but she should have realized her fans would feel lied too.

Was americas sweetheart. She got stuck in the same roles. Nasty public divorce, dumped husband Dennis Quaid for Russel Crow, showed no remorse. Then screwed up her face with all the unnecessary work. She reaped what she sowed.

Like a lot of "stars" she took too much for granted. Sometimes even the most loyal fans get fed up and disgusted. In her case, I guess it was the affair with Russell and her husband Randy was left twisting in the wind in all the tabloids. It's sad because she was cute as a button and could actually act.
