For as long as I can remember, there are people who are so obsessed with changing their skin color, they will just about go to any length to do so. It's got to be some sort of competion and most certainly about vanity. What I can't understand is....and I've met many....there are some people who are so prejudiced towards people of color, yet they themselves want to become dark.....odd?

Huh...like people being obsessed with being tan? That never really occurred to me...I just thought it was pathetic to freak out over pale skin. I mean, if they're born white or brown or whatever, they should be happy with it, and plus, it's like above superficial to change your skin color with surgery and superficial to me if you go to a tanning booth to get a tan.

Yeah, I agree, it is odd. I've known people like that too. I even had one friend who was rather olive complected get so dark that she looked Hispanic, and when people told her that she hated it, but she didn't realize that all she had to do was quit going to the tanning salon so often... duh!

Personally, I'm more worried about skin cancer, so I lather the sun screen on thick.

Yes it is odd, because the people that are prejudiced want to look like the very ones they are prejudiced against.
Could it be jealousy? Probably.

They may have spent a long period of time with that type of colour person. Naturally they will adapt their characteristics and want to become just like them to fit in.

Yea, it's wierd but think about it...does it have to do with the color or just the difference in the way they act?
