Elway was a fricken sissy for sitting out until he went to the broncos. Here's my list-
1) Marino- Has such ungodly stats and i dont care if he didnt win the big one, he didnt have as much help as some of the other guys.
2) Favre- Ironman. Hillbilly everybody loves. He won the MVP 3 years in a row and won a SB and it couldve been 2 if it wouldnt have been for a couple of bad decisions on holmgren. He'll have the TD record by years end. Did all of this with about 4 or 5 years of good teams like Montana had. Enough said.
3) Montana- He's got the hardware.
4) Elway- Punk

I think it's Brett Favre. I cant remember a player that loved the game as much as he does. He is the ultimate competitor and team player. Not to mention one of the toughest quarterbacks to ever play the game. What is it like 225 starts in a row now. 3 M.V.P. awards. And by the end of this season he will hold just about every quarterback record there is. Montana, Elway, and Marino were all GREAT quarterbacks, but if i had to pick one guy i wanted to lead my team it would be Brett.

John Elway or Dan Marino. It is kind of a tough choice. Both were amazing. We should call it a tie but if that is against the rules the pick is Elway.

"On May 2, 1999, at the age of 38, Elway announced his retirement from pro football. Elway is regarded as one of the top quarterbacks ever to grace the game. Not only does he have more wins than any other quarterback in NFL history, but he has one of the best winning percentages in league history (148-82-1), and is tied for most Pro Bowl selections for a quarterback (nine). He is third to Dan Marino and Brett Favre in career passing attempts, passing yards and completions. His four total rushing touchdowns in his Super Bowl games are the most ever by a quarterback. Elway is the only quarterback to have started in five Super Bowls. He is also the second player ever to score a rushing touchdown in four different Super Bowls (running back Thurman Thomas was the first)."

"Elway also holds the record for most game-winning or game-tying scoring drives in the fourth quarter, with 47."

"Elway's 3,407 rushing yards ranks sixth all-time among NFL QB's"

I think those stats put him ahead of Marino even though Marino is ahead of him in career passing attempts, passing yards and completions. But hey, Elway is 3rd all-time in those categories.

well im hoping to get best answer with this one....

I would have to go with the man Brett Favre

he is the only player to ever win league MVP 3 times
he has 225 consecutive starts
he has won a superbowl
he has a career QB rating of 85.0
he has a 61.1 career completion rating
he has 57500 passing yards(record)
he needs on 6 more touchdowns to hold the record for most touchdowns ever(he now has 414)
he has only had 3 seasons in which is interceptions outnumbered his touchdowns

in a long 16 years in the NFL he has amounted to all of this after not even being a 1st round pick( he was a second round sixth pick by the falcons in 1991).

He still has probably the best arm in the NFL,he still plays with heart, and he holds almost all of the records for a throwing QB,he may not have all of the superbowl rings like montana, but look at the teams montana did it with no compare that to the packer teams of the past decade and a half, favre has only had 4 losing seasons in his NFL career and yet he has never had the major name players like montana, marino, and aikman had.

come on....if all of these stats dont say hes the best QB ever, then i dont know what would

I would have to say it is toss up between Terry Bradshaw of the Steelers and Joe Montana of the 49ers as they both won 4 Super Bowls....with Tom Brady of the Patriots a very close 3rd and with 3 Super Bowl wins. Rounding out the top 5 would be John Elway with 2 wins and Brett Favre with 1 win and Peyton Manning at 6 with 1 win....Marino is in the top ten as is Jim Kelly but I based criteria on who has won the Super Bowl. I think future history will show Tom Brady as the greatest quaterback in history with 5 Super Bowl wins....all of this is of course is MY opinion.

I hope I answered your question...it was a good one!

Joe Montana. He was just fun to watch, even if he did not play for my team.

Dan Marino was irritating and Farve is a joke. I honestly have not watched much of John Elway to say anything about him.

Looking at the record book ya have to go with Dan Marino. Looking at Super Bowls then Joe Montana. I say my pick is Dan all the way, I may say Payton Manning in a few years (as much as I will hate to).
