i have a phone line running from down stair to my bedroom it needs to connect to my router but every1 is saying i need an ethernet line...wer do i get thst from and can i use an adaptor to change the line to ethernet? as much info as possible please and extra info will be added on request so please re-visit

Telephone wires contain only 5 wires, where ethernet cables have 6 (maybe 8? I cant remember). At any rate, you can not use an adapter as the lines are two entirely different standards.

you can find ethernet cables just about everywhere these days. Best places would be Best Buy, Office Max, or other electronics stores. Your grocery store and pharmacy MIGHT have a small selection.

Choose the cable based on the length you need it to be.

Ethernet will come from a High Speed internet connection. You'll need a high speed modem.
