With Chris Carpenter the likely Cardinals starter for Opening Day, that eliminates every Met from consideration.
Regardless of whether or not Tom Glavine is Opening Day starter for the Mets, only Pedro Martinez would be able to keep Albert Pujols from hitting a home run. That being said, Glavine would be able to stop the rest of the Cardinals from hitting a home run, so my answer is Pujols.
I could be wrong, but only if Glavine isn't the Mets' Opening Day starter and David Eckstein or Chris Duncan homers in the first inning.

My Picks :
Opening Day Mets Vrs Cardinals :
1. (Most Likley) Albert Pughols : HowDo You Spell It?) the kid can smack a ball, he hits above 30 Homers in most of his seasons being a Big Leauger, dont be surprised for him to hit a dinger.
2. Carlos Beltran : He has a low batting average at time, but he has a slick glvoe and great speed, plus he hits homers. He hit over 30 HR's last year and without those homers the Mets would have no reason to have him on their team.
3. Carlos Delgado He may be old, but he still has it. He made his first playoff apperance last year and was impressive. In his later 30's its preety impresive to hit above 20 HR'S whoever does that is a true power hitter.
Opening Day Around The League : (In Order)
1. (Most Likley) David Ortiz : This guy can hit 30, 40 HRS in a season, hes just plain good. Enough Said. Period.
2. Jason Giambi : Latley the Giambino has been showing his stuff, hitting two HRS so far in Spring Traning, one a Grand Slam. Impressive. I think if this guy is healthy he will be one of the Top 5 in HR'S as he was last year.
3. Ryan Howard - One Incredible 2006 season, will he do it? Im not so sure, I think its a 50/50 chance of him hitting it far........But, if the pitcher buts it in his good spot, their it goes..So he has a chance to hit Home Runs......I think he comes in 3rd place out of all the league.

Pujols is the obvious answer. But it doesn't always work that way. Bill Hall hit the 1st home run in the New Busch Stadium last year. It could be another star for the Mets or Cards like Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, David Wright, Jim Edmonds, or Scott Rolen.
I'm going to guess Chris Duncan.

Well, the Mets are the road team at St. Louis. This means that Carlos Beltran will probably get his chance before Pujols. I'll go with Beltran.
