I had an aunt who thought a woman should put on a fresh coat of nail polish every day. I hate nail polish. Even if I go for a manicure and I don't move for over an hour, the first thing I do is chip the polish, no matter what! Besides, my nails grow long and healthy all by themselves, all I have to do is shape them a little. And I hate painting my toes, why call attention to the most unattractive part of my body.

Because not every woman likes nail polish. Some girls are lazy and can't be bothered to paint their nails or they just simply don't have the time.

When it comes to other people: It's like I want to shift people's focus to my finger nails, and I don't like to do that. I want them to stay focused on my face and my body, I don't want them to be distracted by my finger nails.
When it comes to me: Nail polish dries out my nails, so they look better and stay healthier when they are just polished. Also, some people can't stand the smell of nail polish.

my mom doesnt wear it on her hands since she has to do dishes//housework a lot so it doesnt really make sense re-painting them continuesly since the nail polish comes off all the time. and its also not healthy for the nails to have nail polish on. so like when i remove it i leave it nail polish free for about 2 weeks or something :)

I don't wear nail polish because I'm too lazy to put it on. Also the smell of nail polish bothers my nose, as well as nail polish remover. :]

Because sometimes certain colours look "tarty" or cheap! I personally have lovely natural looking nails which I just can't be bothered to paint. I do however go to the nail bar for the full works if I have a special date and want to finish off my look.

I always wear nail polish on my toes and just clear on my fingernails. I would wear coloured on my fingernails, but by the end of the work week it looks horrible and I don't have time to do touch ups.

When I worked in retail it chipped off too easily. Now, I type all the time. Occasionally I will paint my nails, but I don't have time for all of that. I have much more to do than to care about whether my nails match my outfit.

Islamic religion forbids nail polish... You cannot complete the purification ceremony for praying, if you have nailpolish on. You pray 5 times a day.. so it's really not practcal..
