Hi everyone im confused just been told i have ploystic ovaries
but what i dont get is if im still havin periods every 35-38 days then i must be releasing eggs .because dont you need to release eggs to have a period ?
because doesnt the egg have to travel down ur fallopian tubes into ur womb and if not fertilzed it causes a period ?
so i dont get why i have to have a hycosy to check for blocked tubes and if im not releasing eggs why am i havin periods anyone no its doin my head in .

thanks for that its helped a bit just find it wierd how i still have periods i read up hycosy and it said it due to infection sexaul tranmitted diseases but ive been tested for them and everythings fine that why im so stressed about it i dont understand why i have to have it done thoink im just a bit worried about it all thanks for ur answers xx

dont worry about having a hycosy..... it takes only a few minutes and is relativly painless..... and at least it will show you if anything is wrong and why you are having the heavy periods..

menstrual cycles are down to hormones...... and you have a period because your hormones peak. not because you relaease an egg though this usualy does happen during your cycle.

its better to have a full MOT and know your ok than not have it and be wondering why.....

Eggs can become trapped in the fallopian tubes, but you can still have a period because the ovary has released the egg. This is one of the reasons so many women end up with tubal pregnancies. Better safe than sorry.
