come out for a 600 property loss claim? They are going to spend more money coming out here than they would pay out.

The insurance adjuster is required to investigate the claims made against the insurance company. That is their job. They must verify the validity of the claim & justify the amount that will be paid. The adjuster may determine that the claim is not valid & deny the claim (saving the company $$), or they may determine that the loss is in excess of $600 and you are entitled to more. Simply, the adjuster has to check it out to ensure that the company is performing its duties and obligations under the policy and the law. What they won't do is just write a check without something in their file to support the amount paid.

Why would you claim an insurance loss of only 600? Believe me they will increase your rates for doing it.

I have to agree with Hande...What is your deductible? If it is $500, you have likely just shot yourself in the foot. Going through all this poop for $100 and the claim, as small as it is, will be in the national database. Your premiums will increase. I know it sucks, but they are in this to make money.

Why come out for $600? To ensure that they are not being bilked out/defrauded of one penny.

No, the insurance company has an interest to investigate and protect against fraud.
