What cash?

This is by the way a recurring dream I have. Money kinda slipping out of the cracks here and there in an ATM. Ah well.. just a dream.
But i DID find 80 bucks on a sidewalk once outside a bank.
I am pretty sure I turned it right back into the bank. Pretty sure.

I'd check with a lawyer. If an ATM gives you too much cash and you keep it - that's the same as stealing I understand. In that instance I'd bring it straight back! But if some drunk guy went to the ATM and staggered away with half his withdrawl and left the other half hanging out the dispenser - I say it's mine!

I can gladly say I did the right thing here... a girl in front of me left £40 in the machine because it had said temporarily unable to dispense receipts, but she read it as cash. I ran after her and returned the money. I was on the way to the pub too...

hand it to the bank :( i got to the self checkout in the grocery store once and the person in front of me apparently got cash back, then forgot about it. $60 in fives were just laying there in the tray. i just grabbed it and took it to the cashier.. it's not really alot money, but you never know if someone was getting that out for a date or something. but that's a different case..

BUT. say if i didn't see the guy in front of me and it was at an outside ATM after hours... happy birthday me! :P

It depends how you feel about it. If you're generally a good person, then you probably wouldn't take it, but some people might be inclined to do so.

It is the customer's loss anyway, but not the bank. Of course, you might suffer some sort of consequence if you are a customer there and they get you on camera.

if you spotted some cash sticking out of the dispenser of an atm, you should take it as you were the one how withdrew it! why else were you in the queue?

Depends on the amount. If it was 10 bucks I wouldn't see the point in tracking the person down. If it was any more I'd definately try to find out. Note - don't give it to the police, people never seem to go there to claim it. I'd try the bank.

I wouldn't go near it. They all have cameras recording those ATMs. I would probably tell someone in the bank about it, but not go near it or touch it. Who knows what the story might be.

Depends how much, if it was a tenner I would take it. But if it was like 50 quid then I would hand it into the bank

LIARS for whoever said they'd turn it in.... HOW in the world will a bank know who the rightful owners are???? I would take it.. UNLESS i saw the person who last used it, and then of course I'd give it to them... otherwise, finders keepers losers weepers
