i have my eye on this $50 mp3 player that my friend has and i like it but i want to know about good mp3 players that are $70 or less (ipods would be ok)

it depends on what your looking for. incredibly small flash mp3 players generally run for less than 100$, but they rarely hold more than 200 songs. there are millions of flash mp3 players on ebay, but most of them are manufactured by cheap chinese no-name brands.

hard disk mp3 players, such as ipods, are a different story. i strongly advise NOT buying an ipod... to put it simply, they have NO positive aspect with the exception of apple's excellent customer service. i suggest a creative zen micro - they are unusually cheap and are pretty sturdy as long as you handle them somewhat carefully (dont push the heaphone jack against the mp3 player as hard as you can, in other words). they also have a removable battery, allowing you to buy a spare for 20$ and double your battery life. Micros run for roughly 150$ new and under 100$ used.
