Decide what is the subject of the sentence and what is the object. In an active sentence, the subject is doing whatever to the object - the subject is being active about something. In passive, the object has it done to them by the subject. In other words, you put the object first and make them more important.

So, yes the first one is right.

The second one, yes it is active: "Someone" is the subject.
So to make it passive, you'd say: Mrs.Antonelli's car was driven by someone.

Does that explain it?

If something is active, it only uses action verbs. The very 1st sentence is active and the next one is passive! Words like has, was, is, etc. are passive. Words like run, hit, yell, laugh, sing, etc. are active.
