A 64Bit chip can run 32 BIT applications but a 32BIT chip can not run 64BIT applications.

Windows XP and Vista come with a separate 64bit eddition, Linux also offers a 64bit version but linux is best left to the professionals as it can be hard work.

your queston certainly doesn't I assmue you mean running a 64bit processor with 32bit software like most versions of windows very rarely are programs truly 64bit, farcry is the only game i know that does for exsample
