Many pregnancy tests now allow you to test as early as 4-5 days *before* you expect your period (check the label on the box, but I know that "First Response" is one brand that does). This is of course assuming that your cycle is regular and that you are fairly certain of when your period would start. Keep in mind, tho, that the longer you wait to take the test, the more accurate it will be. The tests measure hCG levels in your urine which get stronger as your pregnancy develops. If you take a test early and get a negative response *and* still don't get your period within a week, you will need to take another test. You might as well buy a 2-pack of tests and take one now and other in a week, if necessary. Good luck.

I am a mom of a 4 month old-- my LMP was Mar. 3, 2006, so almost exactly a year before yours.
I had a positive home pregnancy test on April 1st (that was quite an April Fool's Day for my hubby).
Since I was using a regular home pregnancy test (accurate as soon as the first day of your missed period), I assume that the early pregnancy tests that are more sensitive would be able to pick up on pregnancy hormone changes 5 days earlier (since that is what their advertising claims). So I think you could use one of the new early pregnancy tests today or tomorrow.
Best of luck, especially since you may have conceived on St. Patty's Day like me!

well what u should do is figure out when your supposed to get your next period then like 1 day before you get it do a pregnancy test. if u get a negative and you dont get your period, wait about a week and do another test. if it still comes out negative go to your dr and get a blood test. those are the most accurate and not everyone shows up positive on a HPT.

5 days before your missed period- So you are looking at the last day of the month or so. March 30 or 31 will be good.

you could and it might work, but if you get a negative, you will just wonder for 4 days if you are or arent, and end up taking another one, then another. But I totally get it, I took one way early and it was very clearly positive, and I have a son to prove it, and then I took another one early and now im pregnant with baby #2. Depends on the person

Pregnancy tests will usually become most effective about 3 days before your missed period would have started. Give it a few more days.

i'd wait until you miss your period to be sure. You might get a neg result and then you'll end up buying another test. So just wait.
