I know about Sarkozy and Le Pen. As for the others, no idea; but i'm willing to bet that's better than most non-French people here. The result doesn't really affect me, but I hope Le Pen doesn't do well because he's an idiot. Aside from him, all the candidates seem to be fairly reasonable people.

It's a great shame that most of the replies to a sensible question have been insults 'the French always surrender' and ignorance 'France has elections?'.

the three-4 significant applicants are patently all very different, so that's a alluring contest, and one which will in all likelihood no longer impression the ecu, nor uk kinfolk very a lot interior the destiny. If I had my way, the fist round of balloting could provide each and each voter the prospect to grant each and each candidate factors out of ten, that are then extra up, and the run off election is to encompass the acceptable 4 applicants, in six round robin clashes: A or B (tick easily one of two bins); A or C; A or D; B of C; B or D; C or D. this manner, the winner of the election will acquire help from over 50% of the human beings (and the each person is given way extra decision than lower than the present 2 finalists gadget)

I think there will be more debate from England (but not Scotland), Belgium, Germany and Switzerland than from France.

Then there will be a big party, a day off for everybody and a slow hangover for the country.
