My brother has Aspergers. I am not sure if this is the case with all the people who are diagnosed but he is very shy. He has a hard time getting close to people and reading other peoples body language. He is very intelligent and gets fixated on things very easily. If we let him he would read for hours on end without taking a break, hes very witty also, always looking for the exception of the rules.

I gotta agree with the above. I'm not gonna go into detail because it's easier to Google or Wikipedia your question. I'll give the two most significant symptoms of Asperger's though:

Asperger's is characterized by an impairment in one's ability to interact socially with others. Often times this means that individuals with Asperger's are incapable of understanding the way others feel or engaging with them in genuine, mutually contributory dialogue.

Another hallmark of Asperger's is a restricted area of interest. It appears as though they are absolutely obsessed with some particular thing and will talk about it, read about it and think about to to no end.

It is marked by impairment in two areas: social interaction (e.g., nonverbal behaviour such as lack of eye contact, poor peer relations, and not enjoying the company of others) and secondly, repetitive behaviours (e.g., hand flapping, sticking too closely to routines, etc). To have this diagnosis there has to be no language delay and the person has to be generally of average intelligence or more (i.e., not developmentally delayed). If there is a language delay along with social problems and repetitive behaviours, then autism is the more likely diagnosis.

Well.. It's a mild form of Autism. Off the top of my head.. Some signs include: problems speaking when they're young/older (like my brother always says the most random things in conversations now and he's 17) , they have trouble with social interactions, they have clumsy motor skills like bad hand writing.

I'm not sure exactly what it means.. The gist of it is social problems- like they say inappropriate things or can't really interact with others very well. (Lack of empathy in understand others). They often have another "thing" as well, like ADHD, depression, etc.. (But not always). I hope this helps!

Asperger's is a high functioning form of autism. I would look at the website for the Autism Society of America (www.autism-society.org) for more information. They can give information, answer questions and offer support.

Google or Yahoo search either one will give you a lot of choices if you type in Asperger's Syndrome. It is much too complicated to discuss here.

If you type in "Asperger's Syndrome" in any search engine you will get numerous results. That will tell you anything you need to know.
