I wrote an essay on the play Macbeth.
When putting the name of a book your supposed to underline it. So what do you do for a play? Are you supposed to underline, italicize, or put the name of the play in quotes?

Okay and by the way it's a critical lens essay about Macbeth. Not like a summary about it. Seriously, I'm in 10th grade not in college.

You italicize the name of a play. You put the name of a movie or short story in quotes.

The general rule I go by is....

If it's less than half an hour long, put it in quotations.

If it's longer than half an hour, underline or italicize it. It doesn't really matter which.

THE BEST IS TO UNDERLINE THE NAME. THAT THE READER WILL KNOW WHAT THE ESSAY IS ABOUT. I HOPE YOU INCLUDED ALL THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PLAY! I THINK YOU ARE STILL MISSING A VERY IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFORMATION. I BET NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT IT, BUT I KNOW IT! IF YOU WANT THE "SECRET" OF MACBETH, E-MAIL ME!

Quote it...Because its not a novel or a movie...It is a version of a short story
