I'm a federal employee in Canada, so my equal rights as a gay person are law. However, my employer is neither supportive nor homophobic. Like most employers, they do only what they must for employees and certainly no more.

My company has a policy of supports gay rights but stops short of extending health benefits to domestic partners and that includes the straight ones. I know it was discussed and looked into last June but for some reason it did not enact. We have a lot of employees but as far as I know I'm the only gay guy and I know of two lesbians. I imagine there are more, I don't know everyone.
