To avoid nipple confusion, the baby should not be fed with a bottle or any substitute nipples before he/she is at least four weeks old. This will apply to strap-on feeders, too. As long as they know that, it's an intriguing idea.
However, I've looked a bit online and had zero success finding anything! We tossed around the idea when we had our first child, since my husband felt a little left out of the whole breastfeeding process. But one night, my husband was bitten on the nipple by our hungry son when he went to pick him up. The boy had just gone for the closest thing that looked like it might produce food :-) We both laughed about it a lot, but it helped dispel jealousy that daddy had over my ability to lactate. (I think his exact words were, "Holy ****, does he bite YOU that hard?!?") After that he wore a shirt whenever he went near the hungry infant!

I have heard of men helping by using Supplimental Nursing Systems (a tube running from a bag) but usually they use their fingers wheras mom uses her nipples. SNS are expensive and only used for rare situations if mom doesn't have enough milk or the baby has difficulty feeding. They are to prevent nipple confustion from a bottle. While the baby is getting milk from the tube they are also stimulating mom's supply which is the point.
However honestly if mom/dad think that sucking on fake bags and nipples in a bra, or a bottle is the only way for dad to bond with a baby they have a serious problems. My husband bonded just fine with our son in the same way men throughout time have done. PUTTING IN THE TIME. The snuggles, burping, rocking to sleep, diaper, playing, tummy time etc.
Babies do not need anything but milk direct from the tap, any complication to that system has the potential to cause problems and may have detriments (bottle feeding increases the risks of ear infections for example, and the nipple on a bag strapped to dad probably would do the same. Its about suction)

Um, that's unecessary, and it might send your friend and her man the wrong message. If you want something that is a gift for both of them to bond with the baby, try a bobby pillow, a masculine set of bottles, and a duffle bag for diapers. Unless its a gag thing, then maybe its funny.

Are you sure they want one? If God wanted men to breastfeed babies, don't you think he would make them capable of producing milk? Somethings should just stay as nature intended.

The "Man-O-re-glan" actually exists? I thought only Jack Burns was the only one who had that.
