I had the same problem. One day the girl I was friends with went nuts on me as mom was driving her home. I talked to her on the phone once or twice after that but we never saw each other again. A year later she called and we resolved our differences, but I still haven't seen her since; she turned gothic and lived her life; I lived mine and it just worked out for the best that way. I hope I helped.

If she's treating you bad nip it in the butt, let her know you don't appreciate her behavior and will not tolerate it. If she's going to be Gothic and you will not be does that mean that she is going to continue changing with you...then it's self explanatory that you both are growing in different directions. Although aside from her mistreating you her being Gothic shouldn't determine your friendship. So let her know it's not the Gothic it's her treatment of you. Stand up for yourself...

To tell her that you no longer want to be friends with her is going to hurt her. What you should do is slowly move away from her, that way there is a smaller possibility of your so-called friend getting hurt.

dont, just slowly start talking to her less and less and dont tell her your secrets anymore she will finally get that you guys are getting distant and she is gonna start looking for other friends that have more in common. Thats how i did it and it worked!

I think if you want to avoid confrontation over it.. you should slowly stay away from her. She'll get the hint

simply don´t meet her as often as you did, do things with other people, but never tell her, that you don´t want to be her friend anymore, because this really, deeply hurts her!

Just gradually stop seeing her and cut all phone conversations short. If she asks you , just say you're very busy these days.
