You do get serious gognitve and behavioural alteration in the later stages including irritability, moodiness, hallucinations, paranoia, and short term memory loss. On the eleventh day when he tried to subtract 7 from 100 repeadedly he forgot what he was doing by the time he reached 64.

Usually an individual will fall into a deep sleep prior to this stage and be impossible to awaken until they have recovered.

Without any drugs, stimulants, or outside influence; You will fall asleep. The human body will rest itself. However, using artificial means could cause the organs to malfunction causing death or serious problems due to lack of rest. Also the human body uses sleep time to replenish oxygen levels as well.

Believe it or not sleep deprivation can cause a person to be driven insane. It's really not funny. I dn't know how long they can go but it's hell
