On the Rehab vein, I'd also go with Sittin' at a Bar... assuming you can use the "bad" words where you're playing. It goes over really well with the bar crowd.
Also, She Talks to Angels (Black Crowes)- awesome acoustic song.
Plush -- Stone Temple Pilots
Pardon Me -- Incubus
Everlong -- Foo Fighters
With Arms Wide Open -- Creed

Grateful Dead.......Uncle John's band or Friend of the devil
or
Led Zeppelin......Tangerine...,it starts out with a 12 string, and is very doable if you alternate to a 6 sting
Or try Dear Prudence by the Beatles!

the song "BlackBird" by technique of the beatles is an incredibly ordinary acoustic guitar song. im no longer efficient if it truly is what you're going for, besides the indisputable fact that the beatles have a ton of staggering acoustic songs.

"In a broken dream" by Python Lee Jackson.
Rod Stewart is guest vocalist on the track.
It's effectively a vocal with a background that hits the spot.
Should be easy to cover and put your own stamp on.

"Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits
"Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple (bluesy finger pick - F#m, E, F#m...) (slowly in 2)...(never even play the "famous tired ol' riff" that Smoke on the Water is mostly known for...this puts emphasis on the major chords and gives it more of a somber, spookey sound)...
If you play a harmonica in C, "Low Rider" by War is a good one...(guitar in G).....

Cat's in the Cradle - Harry Chapin/Ugly Kid Joe
It's always a killer.
DO NOT PLAY "PIANO MAN" OR "HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN"!!!
I will boo you off of the stage myself. Good luck, though.
