I am a UAW worker and have just read what seems like an endless list of slams against the UAW. I wonder if most are aware that the labor cost are just 10% of a cars MSRP? So if we did want most anti-union people want and got rid of the union and paid factory workers "what they deserved" (about half of what we make now) your $30,000 SUV would now be $28,500. So my point is this...so many people think getting rid of the UAW would bring down the price of the cars and trucks so that everyone could afford them when the truth is it would discount the cars price by about 5% IF they passed that savings on to you. Still think the unions are the reason you pay so much for you new car? Or maybe the million dollar plus sized bouns so many executives of the big 3 get?

I think Unions are good when you need them, but bad when you don't as they take way too much from regular Joe to line their pockets, and I've heard of some awful union bosses that scam big time, like any CEO. I guess that's the problem, they're too much like a business, and less like an essential service.

Now as for car costs, I totally understand, personally I think they should just make cars WORTH $30 000 instead of cars that seem little different from 90s cars.

As for wages, they should be fair I think, depending on work complexity and such, no problems there.

All unions are scams... they have cost the auto industry thousands of jobs... lazy *** workers protected by the union producing sorry *** cars...that'll ruin a company faster than anything...and when union workers retire and apply for their benefits, usually it's the union's lawyers that are trying to beat them out of it! I know, they did that to my father!
