Happydog, I did Google it for myself, but the results I came up with were not satisfactory to me. No need to get rude.
I'm guessing what I would want to make my guitar into wouldn't be practical for playing it, though (a star *cough**cough*). And yes, I will start off with a normal electric guitar before I go out and drop a whole bunch of dough on a custom made guitar. I was just wondering. A girl can dream, can't she?

Now look. I just typed "custom made electric guitar" into Google and came up with a list as long as your arm. Look under "luthier" as well.
The cost depends on what you want. Usually any color you want is not a problem, but as far as a shape, that's where you might run into trouble. Some shapes are not practical for a guitar and might make it impossible to play. It doesn't sound like you know much about playing a guitar, but the guitar has to be the right size and weight in order to play well.
I think maybe you ought to think about playing the guitars that are out there first before you go off and spend on a custom. And by the way, depending on what you want, a custom guitar can run you from $1000 to $10,000.
In other words, your question is way too vague, and I can't figure out why you didn't just frigg1n GOOGLE IT FOR YOURSELF!

Sure one can, Go online and look for custom guitars and get a phone number ,make sure you tell them where your located, get the nearest spot ,and call and see if they can understand exactly what you are looking for ie...colour style ect ect...or send an e-mail with what you want done or what your looking for and get estimates,and tell hem what type of guitar..I would think the price would be according to what you like and have done..Also another great place would be pond shops..

My dad made one practically from scratch. But I don't know if pros do it or not. Try typing custom guitar on the yahoo local search line. Just a thought.

you can get a guitar any way you want it ... seriously
google luthier and see what comes up ... there are so many people who sepcialize in making custom guitars ...
if you want a cheaper deal and aren't looking for too much then definitely hit up guitar center ... a really good luthier can put you back tens of thousands, although there are definitely less expensive ones

of course you can get one made. you can have anything you want , it just depends on how fat your wallet is in the end. with money anything is possible. you might want to go and ask some of the reps at a sam and ash, or a singer music store. not sure if those exsist around your area.

I know music stores where you can buy kits to make your own electric guitar. I donno about costs sorry. They pretty much are only limited by your imagination. I would recommend going to your local music store and asking where you could buy electric guitar kits.

um i don't know where you're from but there's a great place called buffalo brothers on the west coast, they do everything, and its great. its not too pricey, i mean what i had done was nothing too horrible. so if you're on that side of the world anytime you should check it out.

I do not have any "shares" in guitar center as far as I know... but you could probably call them, they are a NATIONAL CHAIN.. if anybody would know they would probably know who is doing such type of work.
