It's not about how much it costs - it's about how it looks and makes you feel. I go to a number of events and most of them are quite dressy, so I search all the sites for the dress for me - last one I found was on Fredericks.com - on sale for around $39 and my pic ended up in an independent magazine because they loved my dress! It was a silver satin marilyn monroe style dress with beadwork. Just remember, your price tag doesn't hang out of the dress, but your attitude does, so if you end up getting a dress that's affordable, smile about it, cause think of the other ones that spend crazy amounts and their dresses still look cheap.

You should get whatever dress you are going to feel beautiful in. It doesn't matter if it is $100 or $1000 as long as you feel like a gorgeous princess for prom

Prom stresses me out!! What about you?
Find something you absolutely LOVE!
Then you can either spend that much at the moment, or...
Know how much you need to come up with!
If the dress you LOVE is way out of your price range...
you now know what flatters you and can look for cheaper alternatives!!
Good Luck! Remember Confidence is the best accessory!

i really think you should go with the dress that you like best. Just because you have $300 doesnt mean you have to spend it all. If you like the more expensive one better than get it but if you love the cheaper one get it then you will have be able to get whatever accessories you like

I dont think you should.
Its only for one night, dont waste good money on a dress you're probably never going to wear again unless you go to formal balls and stuff like that.
But sure why not? Its your choice
Its the beauty of looking good for your prom.
I say no but i also say yes.
Maybe you should get a rental that way you can get your money back.

Well if you like the dress, get it! Why spend more on something you don't like as much.

Go with what you like. You will probably never wear it again anyway. Personally, I'd even look into rentals.
