SOME USERS HAVE "TOP CONTRIBUTOR" UNDER THEIR PICTURE, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? JUST CURIOUS.

The more you answer in a particular category, and the more Best Answers you get (not the percentage) the more likely you are to get a "top contributor" badge next to your name, in up to 3 categories, and is updated weekly. Levels, and points have nothing to do with it. I have it for answering in Yahoo 360, Yahoo Answers, and the General - Yahoo! Products categories, none of which am I on the leaderboard, but I have been answering alot of questions in these categories recently. I do lead the category DIY and I do not have "top contributor" for that category, but I haven't answered much in that one for a while.
It's also a brand new feature and they are still working out the exact formula to recognize quality over quantity.

They answer a lot of questions. Some of their answers are good. But some of them place quantity over quality. To just quickly dash out an answer for the sake of answering is not very helpful. Share the knowledge you have and don't try to pretend to know something you don't.

I had one under mine but it disappeared. It means you've answered a whole bunch of questions in a particular category. I don't know how many are required.

It means that they spend most of their time answering/asking questions in a specific section of yahoo answers, and they're the top person who contributes to that area.

I wouldn't say we're actually Top Contributers with best answers but we try our best and are active on Y! A.

I think it means they just answered more questions than others for certain categorys ( most likely addicted LoL ) .. Some say you get one when you get 10% best answers . I'm not sure

It means you have over 10% in best answers. Kind of hard to do if you have many answers. To me it means nothing.

Mine disappeared yesterday. You get them when you answer alot of questions in a specific category.
