Most famous, most carisma, you don't even have to like them. As its Cads question, I suggest Elvis. Not really a fan, but he had something.

The all-time, most famous entertainer of all time with the most charisma ever just had to be the one and only "Bob Hope."
No one could ever come close enough to compare to his love for entertaining and not just the public but for the armed forces as well. Entertaining our armed forces was something that he wanted to do and never forced to do it either because he loved each and every person in our armed forces and he so looked forward to doing his part to keep up the spirits of those who risked their lives to keep peace.
My idea of the greatest entertainer is "Bob Hope" because no matter where is was he always drew the biggest audiences and believe me when I say that everyone loved him dearly and still do. He brought Sunshine into each life as he entertained.
Thank God for "Bob Hope."

Elvis Presley for sure....His voice was just SO powerful and he is the only entertainer to have sold 1 billion albums...No one else has even come close

Record Sales
It is estimated that Elvis Presley has sold over one billion record units worldwide, more than anyone in record industry history. In America alone, Elvis has had 150 different albums and singles that have been certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), with more certifications expected as research into his past record sales continues and as current sales go on. Research is also underway to document his record sales achievements in other countries. It is estimated that 40% of Elvis' total record sales have been outside the United States.

I saw Elvis Presley in person in Las Vegas many times and he had such a presence that I have never seen in another person. I have been to many concerts and seen lots of celebrities, but Elvis certainly stands out.

The second entertainer that I consider the most charismatic is Jimi Hendrix. I saw him many times in concert and he held you captive with his music There was no way you could move when he was playing. He had such a beautiful personality. He always Entered smiling and left the same way.

Al Jolson
He promoted new music before it was recorded - ie. sheet music, danced outrageously -they wouldn't show him from the waist down in the movies!,
He introduced runways for live artistes (like Robbie Williams uses now),
He was a workaholic, worked all week, and did concerts on Sundays for fellow artistes,
He sang 'Are you lonesome tonight ' before Elvis,
He was one of the first artistes to go and entertain troops at war.
He promoted 'black' music and made it popular at a time when it wouldn't have been considered (although, looking back NOW he appears to have been racist )
He was billed as 'the world's greatest entertainer'

Good question
I believe it's about that je ne sais quoi, if it makes hairs stand up on your neck, thats it.

I agree with Elvis, great smile!
Maria Callas, just passion personified
James Brown consumate professional who didn't care about sweating buckets!
makes things like 'XFactor' look rather redundant

Would have to be Elvis, his movies weren't all that great, but his stage shows were wonderful, he hated making the movies but it was his manager who got him to them, in an interview later in his life he said he was embarrased by them

YEP, - I have been an Elvis fan ALL MY LIFE, - he most CERTAINLY DID, have a "CERTAIN SOMETHING", that is sadly, LACKING in numerous so-called "SUPERSTARS" of the modern music scene! Those of us, who KNOW music have a very simple word, for it! We call it TALENT!
