Good question. If anyone knew, heaven would be here. Immature people who have little self worth pick on minorities because they are very afraid they will never be special. You are!!!

It is simply a matter of Racism by association.

To be specific, certain groups of races, such as Caucasian, Asians, Mexicans, and Blacks form gangs and do cause much grief.

In my area (Sacramento, Ca) there are many Asian gangs that are hated. They have no respect for anything.

In Stockton, Ca it's the same with the Mexicans.

In Florida it is the Cubans.

In Washington, DC it is the Blacks.

In Northern California (North of Redding) it is the "White thieving Trash".

So, if you have become guilty by just being Asian. If you are a nice person, others will know it and you too will not like the troublemakers.

Hang in there!

Bob P.

Not to worry, my neighbors are Asian and are the nicest people that I have ever known. I love their cooking...except for their firery hot stuff!

Racism, prejudice, chauvinism, and intolerance are passed from generation to generation. If you grow up hearing negative things about a person’s race, religion, or sex, then you will grow up believing it. There are people who learn things from other influences and develop their own ideas. Still most people, who are prejudice, learn it from their parents. It is a vicious cycle, just like child abuse. It can only stop if the next generation is educated on their ignorance.

I also believe that there are things in place that were made to help civil rights that also cause people to become upset. There are things like minority scholarships. Where I live the population is three black people for every white person. Even with this fact, the blacks are still considered a minority. I was always taught that minority means the smaller number. I think that scholarships should be based on financial means and not a person’s color. If that were the case then many people would be able to go to college who cannot now. This would still help the lower class black people, but it would also help the lower class of other races. There are also other things that are lopsided and can strife.

I am not sure that blacks are actually a minority any more either. I know that the number of black people has risen significantly over the last 20 years. I do agree that there are still minorities though.

Just to make this clear though. I am not prejudice or racist. I see people as people. Their color, sex, or religion does not come into play. I always have believed that God created MAN and WOMAN, it was man who created BLACK and WHITE.

They did an episode on 20/20 about this issue. It showed several actors who were Asian, Black, and Hispanic. They said that the jobs were sometimes limited because the part did not call for that race. The biggest issue was that they did not feel like they were as appealing sexually. Personally, I would take B. D. Wong (Asian), Shemar Moore (Black), Rory Cochrane (Hispanic), Jonathan Togo (Indian), Adam Rodriguez (Hispanic), or Eric Szmanda (not sure) over Brad Pitt (boring, over-publicized, white guy) any day! I like Matthew Gray Gubler (nerdy-looking white guy) even better than Pitt.

When dealing with someone who says the wrong thing, try to see if the comment came from hatred or ignorance. You'll find that there are only a few people who really hate other races (and you can't fix them). Besides the haters, there are a lot who know few people of other race and make blanket statements about a race from the two guys they met, or something they heard, or a sterotype. Those people can be educated, so answer their stupid comment without attitude so that they will know better next time. It might make a difference, one person at a time.

In my experience as a Caucasian kid in the slums of NY.I was always feeling down on myself for being white!Growing up,my school would always celebrate the uplifting of black folk.Always taught history about the trials of the black people and how "bad" the white man has been to them.Never ever taught the better parts and contributions of western culture.
We celebrated all things black, and no things white. As a young adult I was assaulted several times by racially motivated black youths. On several occasions I was accused of saying ****** when both I and they knew that was a lie. They would fabricate so they could play the race card later should anyone try to hold them accountable. Now as an adult I find myself wanting to teach white children to be proud of their heritage so they won't feel ashamed of being who they are, like I did when I was young. For a child to feel as such is just WRONG!ps Im 26,and as for what he↑↑ said, being poor is not an excuse, especially when I look around and see many blacks doing relatively good, many of them are driving cars and I cant even afford one presently.

That's so interesting to me. When I was in high school in the 70's my boyfriend was Chinese (I'm White). We never even thought about racism. We talked about anything and everything, and he never complained while the Black people wouldn't even stand up for the "Pledge of Allegiance." Back then there were no "Orientals" even in a TV commercial. Let alone on SNL. I don't understand what was happening, and what changed.

Racism goes in all directions; don't just get on whites about it, and no, they don't get to be racist because of the way their ancestors were treated. This is the present and they should act human or die. Besides which, when did Orientals get a lock on the description "Asian"? There are other races in Asia, you know.

I have no clue why some people (and not just white people) have problems with other races or ethnicities. It's something I have wondered about often myself.

Hopefully the people of our generation will raise children who are much more open minded & colorblind.

Ill give you an example of how one might answer a question of racism referring to black skin coloured humans.

Some people hate blacks because they are different, and by not integrating enough into society that's what makes them outcasts. Its not only there skin colour but their culture that is immensely different. Not to mention the millions of crime incidents where people are confronted with blacks in there home. Lets face the music, there are very little wealthy blacks. Very few blacks seem to have any decent sought of education with most attending poor state schools. Without knowledge in this world makes you redundant. Which means you cant get a job hence leading to criminal acts.

Well I believe everyone is racist/predjudice in this world.

If it's not just race, Its social standing...What house whom loves in, our job's, everything...

I judge. I am not afraid to say it, I stereotype blacks, white's asian's, rich, poor, drug addicts, men, woman, democrats, republicans..etc...
